Merco Group International’s Latest North Beach Project is Poised for Construction
Miami Beach , FL (January 14, 2005). Real estate developer Merco Group International has announced the eminent groundbreaking of its latest residential luxury high-rise project, NoBe Bay. Named for the section of Miami Beach which defines the North Beach corridor from 60 th to 73 rd streets, NoBe Bay embodies the lifestyle of what is swiftly becoming the new hot-spot for luxury condominiums.
As Miami Beach continues to be at the forefront of desirable locations for both primary-home buyers who make South Florida their permanent residence and second-home buyers looking for a vacation residence on the beach, more prospective condo buyers are eyeing the 13-block long parcel of prime real estate as the place to shop for their future home. “The central location of North Beach, between Bal Harbour Shops, which is minutes to the north, and the entertainment and nightlife of South Beach minutes to the south, is one its the main attractions to buyers in this area,” explains Homero Meruelo, Jr., chief executive officer of Merco Group International.
He should know. Merco Group International, which maintains a focus on cutting-edge mixed-use residential projects from Miami to West Palm Beach is also the developer responsible for the sell-out of its 48-story luxury condo, Akoya, at 6365 Collins Avenue. Two more projects in the area make Merco Group International a major force behind the success of NoBe, as this area of the beach has come to be called.
NoBe Bay at 6700 Indian Creek Drive, is scheduled for ground-breaking in February, 2005, and already there is a buzz. The 16-story building on the edge of the bay is designed by the renowned architectural firm of Kobi Karp to be luxurious and exclusive, allowing only 98 units. The building is gracefully curved, creating not only a beautiful architectural visual to behold, but a unique vantage point from which to admire the bay, the Miami cityscape and the panoramic South Florida sunset, for each of the residences. “Because the first residential floor is on the fourth floor, the beautiful views can be appreciated from every unit, regardless of which floor it’s on, which is an important feature for buyers to consider,” points out Meruelo.
The building offers one, two and three bedroom floor-through plans with the luxury of one elevator with private foyer exclusively shared by every two units. Terraces abound on both sides, and corner units enjoy a luxurious expanse of wrap-around balconies. The building also includes seven penthouses and five cabanas. An expansive pool patio overlooks the bay, allowing for maximum, unimpeded western sun exposure. The gymnasium and spa feature all of the latest equipment as can be found in a state-of-the industry health and fitness facility.
As was the case with the highly-successful Akoya, Merco Group International is once again teaming with Fortune International Realty, headed by Walter Defortuna, for the marketing of Nobe Bay, and its future sister, NoBe Beach, which will once again include the architectural talent of Kobi Karp. In the meantime, completion date for NoBe Bay is expected in 2007. With groundbreaking day around the corner, and prices starting from the $300’s, contracts are expected to fill fast.
